I’m listening the full show after some years and I try to find the spots that made this live album overall weak and not meet our expectations and bands too. 1)Scott was at a bad Vocal year back then and probably bad place mentally. 2) Tempo was so high that in the some Classic Creed songs lost their uniqueness and felt lifeless and unfamiliar. 3) Fip drum sound has so much bass that you can’t listen Brian at all in a point you think bass doesn’t exist 4) The dude who was responsible for the sound Mark kept the volume so damn low and flat ,he must have tried to achieve Mark sound like that seriously.
To make a conclusion ,The people who were responsible to make this Was so unfimiliar with how Creed sounds that the recording didn’t fit the bands At all . They had a frontman with bad vocal night who didn’t protect at all and a world class guitar player who kept hes sound low&flat. This dvd seems like a big waste opportunity.
Stapp cannot sing like he used to period. He does have a good night here and there but overall there is something wrong with his vocal cords. I would think that he could work with a top vocal coach to get some of his early Creed voice back in shape. I just assume he thinks he knows it all so he never works on it. I'm also bothered he isn't upfront about it, like hey I have this going on with my voice these days but working through it. It's always about denial or pretense when it comes to Stapps actions. Many singers have issues, why not be real about it? He should steer clear of Creeds music, do some new songs that he can sing live, songs that are easy on his voice. Going back to the 2009 show, when I watched it live online I liked it, when I got the DVD I hated it. The show on the DVD was not the show I watched. Yes Stapp was singing horribly but the DVD took the whole show to the lowest quality level. Creed is known for the live show, this DVD was not the Creed I always knew.
They should have never released that DVD it was beyond horrible. The person(s) responsible for working on the post production for sound should have been shot.
The problem also is now that the guys have switched over from their Creed sound (which they purposely wanted to do - One Day Remains sounded too much like Creed) to their Alter Bridge sound, it seems like they kind of lost the ability to go back to that Creed sound now. A lot of people thought that Full Circle sounded more like Alter Bridge than Creed.
According to Stapp, Tremonti was so pissed about how that DVD came out he refused to go to the screen showing. Wonder why they couldn't or didn't try to fix it, or have it scrapped.
Wrong 7string - I tried to find the tape where Stapp asks his wife about the vocal coaches he has used but I was unable to find it, so I know that he has used vocal coaches. I want to say maybe it was around 2013 when he talked about it.
Agreed Them bones they should have released the footage from the 1999 Mesa, Arizona show when Creed was at their best.
Infrared always has to get a 'Mark is to blame' in your post ha ha
Hey Dimitris hows Greece these days? There was a thread on this already I thought
Stapp needs to work on his voice daily to make improvements. I wish he would so if God drops a miracle upon us and makes Mark, Brian and Flip want to work with Stapp again, he will be ready.
He cannot sing the Creed catalog without strains through the songs. If you can't do them, don't do them unless its with Creed. When he did the songs with Creed at least the fact Mark is an amazing gp and singer, Brian an amazing bassist and Flip a killer drummer helps the vocal part of the show be less sucky.

Lets face it, there's been an ongoing conspiracy of sorts with the bass in the mix. This holds true for both Creed and AB. Why don't they like to hear the bass in the mix like the old Creed days? Even on some of the latest AB DVD the bass was low in the mix plus camera time for Brian was lacking. That said the AB DVD was epic this time around. Lastly, something we can all agree on, Stapp needs to work on his voice.
No I don't blame Mark at all I'm not here to point fingers to the band ,I even say that Mark play was brilliant except the tempo and the people who mix this DVD ruined he's performance. Well everything is better in Greece nothing like years before but I'm hoping for even better days
infrared You said "According to Stapp, Tremonti was so pissed about how that DVD came out he refused to go to the screen showing."
Maybe maybe not the full story on the events
Certain people take Stapps book or words in interviews as gospel. Remember, those words are coming from an addicts brain which will have a warped recall of events since the brain was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. I'd take Mark, Brian and flips memory recall of events over Stapps. I know first hand as a family member of an addict. They lie and when they are sober they remember things in the lie scenario they told as a addict. It's a trip to compare stories with family of things that happened to the memory of an addict.
When Creed returned it was like there was a lack of caring about the band from the top down. Remember the shitty social media at the height of the return, how terribly bad Full circle was promoted and then how Stapp trashed the rest of Creed publicly. How they handled Creed is nothing like how they handle the other bands. You can tell when the behind the scene people, management and the band are in 100% and when they are not. The dvd was a result of these things, it was a disaster but, like someone said, it was a decent show when watched live online, probably partly due to the huge crowd, it made it exciting like the first show they did when they came back. You'd think all parties involved would want to give the fans that started it all for them nothing but the best. Instead, we are pulled into different directions because of the inside issues with the relationships. This is why I don't want to see Creed come back, it would be a forced situation and not a in it 100% kind of thing.

DIMITRIS I'm glad you're one of the mods here. I can tell you like Creed a lot. You're right about the dvd on all points. I was disappointed with how they made Mark sound. The glaring thing through the dvd is that Scott Stapp was definitely having some sort of problems with his voice. He would open his mouth on parts of songs and nothing was coming out, like he lost parts of his entire voice. Unsure as to why he didn't come out and say he was dealing with this or that so people would know what was up with him.
infrared I believe what people meant about the vocal coach, is that should be an ongoing part of his routine since he does not have his voice back still. There are techniques he can learn to make a song sound full if he cannot sing it the original way. When you watch his solo shows you can see him at many points singing wrong. That's what people are hearing when he hits weak points in each song. It might be good to get away from Creeds music for a break, perhaps put together solo music that he can sing correctly without weak spots. Besides, giving Creed music a break is a good thing, maybe it would make him dig deep to find something of his own to do solo. The marriage of Creed covers with solo music isn't a good fit, it takes from the theme of the show, promo of a solo album and so on. He holds on too tight to the Creed covers, which I think has prevented his growth musically.
