notime2fear Thank you very much. That's the type of information I'm looking for. Not that we don't still have plenty to hold against him, but that sounds like it was a long time ago (as Mr. Godsmack puts it). It was still shitty of him, though.
ElwoodBlues That's kind of odd coming from a public figure, but nonetheless comes across as mostly good-natured (if juvenile) pranking.
Anybody have any other examples they'd care to share? I'd appreciate it! (No "official sources" required, though they help).

What Sully said happened matches with what Mark said in that early 2000's video
"imagine going to a restaurant and having a mother bring up two young 10 and 11 year old kids who are big fans who say "oh i'm sorry to interrupt" And Stapp say "But you will anyways right" and your like dude! did you really just say that??? are you that cold hearted?
We'd come off after the shows and there would be the arenas fans out by the fences and we'd go sign at the fences and Stapp would go right on the bus but we'd go sign, and he'd tell us you guys should stop signing, you are making me look bad. And we'd say you are bad for not signing, we are contiuing to do what we want to do. And we'd get into fights over that."
John are you taking information off the forum for something?

I think Scott tries to say somethin funny n' witty and the joke just does'n't work out loud as it does in his head ..as a person with a good sense of humor I get how he thought that "innterupt anyway" response would seem funny, but like a said some jokes are better left in ur head
We've dun it. A machine that can feel the whole spectrum of human emotion, sh*ty, crappy, sad, horny and hungry ..it can feel it all!

notime2fear Am I taking information off of the forum? What do you mean? This is the only place I'm actively using to try and fill myself in on how Stapp has acted in the past, if that's what you're asking; this type of stuff is hard to search for on Google for whatever reason. Typically what comes up is general Stapp/Creed hate or him being an idiot on Casino Cinema.
It's so much more interesting & productive around here when we are busy talking about the awesome things the other members of Creed are doing/creating. Scotts own wife said on public tv that everything out of his mouth is a lie. We all know how Scott really is now so why talk about it anymore? Of course these reasons and the drugs & alcohol are why the other members of Creed do not want to work with Stapp. It's not hard to see people, if you have other bands without those problems, that are fun to be in then well you get why we are not seeing Creed out there rocking and rolling. It was never Brian, Mark or Flips fault that Creed stopped being an active thriving band.

notime2fear Just myself is all. Like many others, I bought into the "it's the other guys' fault" story that Scott was spewing around the time they went their separate ways again. I listened to his latest solo album and loved it, so my fiancé took me to see him in Lawrence, Kansas. We ambushed him behind the bus and he didn't hesitate to sign my CDs and book and take pictures. He came to Little Rock, Arkansas last week (I live in North Little Rock) and we went to see him again. However, this time he seemed a little off during the performance, and we tried to get him again before he got on the bus, but he didn't say anything. The guy who had the bus keys answered for him and told us that he wasn't feeling well, which he had mentioned during the concert as almost causing him to cancel, so I assumed that had something to do with it (it was also 36 degrees outside and he was soaked with sweat).
Anywho, just trying to get some perspective from where other fans are coming from with their criticisms. He was really sweet when I first met him, and the second time I tried to talk with him there were valid reasons for him to not stop what he was doing (cold outside, has a cold, cold air bad for voice and a show the next day). But that's just me. Obviously many other users here don't share my rather positive opinion of Stapp. I think he's a good guy at heart these days (if not necessarily in the past), with some troubles.
I don't know any "good guys" that do the things he does and has for decades, he needs to really work on himself if you ask me. There is a reason so many people dislike Stapp, his own actions are why. What kind of good person goes around trying that hard to turn the bands fans against the other members? That is rotten if you ask me, there is nothing good in that behavior. Why do you think it is that the other members of Creed left Creed? If he was such a great guy why did they run? Why do they avoid him now if he is such a great guy with a few probs? I am also not sure why certain people only show up here to talk about Stapp drama but are never around for the majority of forum talk about music or things that are upbeat. You also group everyone with a few people's opinions which is not right.

LostCreed I know that Stapp has pulled this "I'm changed" stuff before, but until I see reason to doubt him again I'm going to assume he's actually turning over a new leaf, if only because there's a diagnosed reason for much of his behavior this time out (aside from drugs). But you're right, he DOES need to work on himself, and by all accounts as of this day in 2016, he is. I make no excuses for his past behavior, except to say that he had an undiagnosed illness. Otherwise, he was just a jerk and an addict, plain and simple. I'm talking about who he is (or if you prefer, who he is trying to be) NOW, not in 1999 or 2013.
As for only being around to talk about Stapp drama, that's not quite true from my end. I was very excited for the Retrospective, which is the reason I created an account here. The general negativity in that thread caused me to become a bit salty with most of my responses. With other topics, as I said in one of my earlier posts I'm looking for details that aren't easily found via the internet, but other fans can tell me. I'm trying to UNDERSTAND why so many fans dislike Stapp, since Tremonti, Flip and Brian have largely been silent (except for about the drugs). Until coming to this forum I'd only ever seen Stapp as how he wanted to be seen. When it comes to other, less concrete topics, I don't really care to speculate unless we have some reliable details. Me posting an upbeat response on Creed's probable return won't change anything. Plus, isn't my hope that Stapp is actually becoming a better man as of his most recent recovery an upbeat post in and of itself?
As for my unseemly habit of generalizing, I know that's been a problem for some folks in the past, but with these last few on this thread I thought I'd done better. I made sure to say "SOME people" or "SOME fans" when speaking of opinions. Question my thought process all you want, but I'm not going to call individuals out over a difference in opinion, particularly when I'm only attempting to reference a train of thought. Still, I apologize to anyone and everyone that I offend with my posts and syntax.
The world would be boring if we all thought alike and had the same opinions.
It's clear that many people that come on Creednation are die hards who know way more than the average casual fans of Creed so they have strong feelings about Stapp treating the other members of Creed like he has. But remember these same people are the ones who fought for Stapp everytime he had a "come back"... this time however he did a lot of sly things that rub the hard core fans wrong, all the fan blocking he was responsible for with Creed's accounts, trying to blame Creed 5 on Mark and recently trying to turn fans against the other members. It's time for Stapp to really change so people can trust what he says and like him again as a person.
Everyone wants that for him. It cannot be easy to look in the mirror knowing you do such things on the down low but in public say "spread love", he has major integrity issues. Like how Mark said he would try to turn one member against the others like if one went to bed he would talk about that person to the others, that's ugly.
